Deb Chausse confers with House of Hope Directors Richard Jumpp and Patty Sullivan Talty on the original design for the Apartments.
Jane Wallis Gumble, Director of the MA Dept. of Housing and Community Development, Armand Mercier, Mayor of Lowell, and Kevin Keogh, HUD Regional Director break the ground for the New Hope Apartments in April 2004.

The New Hope Apartments are ten units of affordable permanent housing made available to shelter residents, with another unit occupied by resident managers. The units are two, three and four-bedroom apartments; one is equipped to accommodate physically disabled residents. A sunny bright exterior, gleaming appliances and fixtures, and new furnishings constantly reinforces the cheerful moods of this housing. The Community Center, adorned with colorful flowers, is shared with the Shelter, and provides a large, comfortable living room, sparkling kitchen, and a convenient laundromat.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony to dedicate and open the Apartments was held on April 8th, 2005 — one year to the date after construction began. Watch them take shape!
